Brasília, January 23, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The leader of the government in the Chamber of Deputies, Aldo Rebelo, named to assume the Secretariat of Political Coordination and Institutional Affairs, announced today, at a breakfast with members of the press, that his priority will to coordinate political relations with the Congress, governors, mayors, and the Judiciary.
According to Rebelo, autonomy and cooperation among government branches are desirable for the democratization of the country's political life. For this reason, he believes that reform of the Judiciary will occur in an atmosphere of dialogue and respect. "Together with the Congress and the Judiciary, we seek to create mechanisms to improve the ways the branches operate. This can only be done through dialogue, in an atmosphere of respect without imposition." (DAS)
