Stock market up and dollar down - at levels not seen since June 2002

São Paulo - With the Central Bank successfully making a landmark issue of 30-year bonds worth US$1.5 billion, the São Paulo stock market (Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo) (Bovespa) closed out yesterday up 1.33%, at a record 24,236. Trading volume was also high at R$1.385 billion.

Meanwhile, the dollar (comercial) fell 1.41% to R$2.790 (buy) and R$2.792 (sell), the lowest levels since June 2002. (AB)
