Brasília - The Brazilian government is studying the possibility of appealing a lower court ruling which makes it mandatory to photograph and fingerprint Americans arriving in Brazil. The issue is under study by government lawyers (Advocacia-geral da União) and the ministries of Justice and Foreign Relations.
The ruling was made based on the principle of reciprocity. As of today, January 5, all Brazilians arriving in the United States will be photographed and fingerprinted. (AB)
