Brasilia - Brazilian exports rose 31.7% in the second week of December, compared to the same period last year. According to the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), the daily value of exports reached US$328.7 million, compared to US$249.7 million in 2002.
The increase was across the board - in all categories, with semimanufactured goods up almost 60%, basic goods up over 44% and manufactured goods up 17.9%.
Exports in December have now reached US$3.287 billion, and US$69.623 billion for the year. (AB)
