Inflation in SP recedes to 0.63% in October

Brasília, November 5, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Inflation in the municipality of São Paulo receded to 0.63% in October, as against September's 0.84%, according to data on the Consumer Price Index (IPC), compiled by the Fipe (Economic Research Institute Foundation) of the University of São Paulo. Housing was the item that registered the greatest price increase for the month (1.16%), followed by Food (0.82%), Clothing (0.51%), Transportation (0.20%), Health (0.20%), and Education (0.03%). For its part, the Personal Expenses item presented a 0.07% deflation. (DAS)
