Brasília, May 29, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - On Tuesday (27), the Organization of American States (OAS) Secretary-General's Group of Friends of Venezuela - composed of Brazil, Chile, Spain, the United States, Mexico, and Portugal - manifested its "great satisfaction" with the completion of an agreement between representatives of the Venezuelan government and the political and civil society organizations that constitute the Democratic Coordination, within the context of the Table of Negotiation and Agreements. This information was announced in an official note by the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
According to the note, the Group of Friends highlighted the relevance of the agreement to fortify an "atmosphere of peace and understanding" in Venezuela and to promote a setting of "trust that will help to consolidate democratic harmony among Venezuelans." (DAS)
