Brasília, 12/10/2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - An international mission of representatives from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, World Bank and the Interamerican Development Bank have delivered a document to the Zero Hunger program coordinator, José Graziano Silva, containing suggestions for the program. The mission recommends speeding up the disbursement of payments and linking the Zero Hunger program to other social assistance programs, such as literacy and nutritional education.

The document counted on input from the transition team and focused on institutional problems, family farming, land reform settlements and the risk of drought to families in the semi-arid region of the Brazilian northeast. (AB)
