New York, 12/10/2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Commenting on the possiblity of war between the US and Iraq, president Fernando Henrique Cardoso declared that there have to be good reasons to justify a war. "Without them, war is the worst of all evils," he said.

Cardoso praised the UN for sending arms inspectors to Iraq. "The government of Iraq must understand that the inspection is important for its future. And countries on the other side must understand that war can only be justified with good reasons." (AB)
