Nuclear energy specialists meet in Rio de Janeiro

Brasília, November 29, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Specialists in security in the nuclear field from 40 countries will meet at the Rio Othon Palace Hotel, in Rio de Janeiro, from December 2 to 6, at the International Conference on Security in Nuclear Installations. The gathering, with more than 300 participants is sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), together with Eletronuclear and the Nuclear Industries of Brazil (INB).

There is also support from the National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN). Experienced technicians, with the traditional background in security that the nuclear sector requires on a daily basis, will come from countries like Canada, France, China, Sweden, Romania, Cuba, Mexico, Australia, Japan, US, and Russia to discuss and evaluate ideas and advances in the culture of security through themes that, while focussed on the nuclear sector, are applicate to other branches of industry.
