Brasília – Brazil’s trade surplus in September was $2,557 billion, with exports of $19.999 billion and imports of $17.442 billion.
However, in September 2011, the surplus was $3.072 billion, almost 17% more than September 2012.
This year, from January to September, the average daily value of exports in running at $1.053 billion, down 5.1%, compared to the same period in 2011.
The average daily value of imports, January to September, is running at $918 million, down 4.9%, compared to the same period in 2011.
Brazil is importing less fuel and lubricants, electronic equipment, vehicles and auto parts, fertilizers and pharmaceuticals. And exporting less semi-manufactured goods (down 15.6%) and raw material (down 7.9%)
Cumulatively for the year so far, Brazil has a trade surplus of $15.727 billion with exports at $180.597 billion and imports at $164.870 billion. The cumulative surplus is 31.8% less than the same period in 2011.
