Year of France in Brazil is theme of meeting between ministers

Brasília - The Brazilian and French governments are studying the possibility of holding a Year of France in Brazil. The press office of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Relations informed that this topic was discussed at a breakfast meeting in Paris, on Monday (27), between the Brazilian minister of Foreign Relations, Celso Amorim, and the French minister of Foreigtn Affairs, Phillipe Douste-Blazy.

Last year the Year of Brazil in France was commemorated in over 300 events that attracted a public estimated at around 15 million people.

According to the Ministry, the two ministers have already agreed on the idea of holding the Year of France in Brazil. The date will be determined at an opportune time.
