Brasília - Each year Brazil has 80,000 new cases of tuberculosis and 6,000 people die of the disease. Determined to change that, the government has reiterated its commitment to the Millennium Goal program of reducing TB cases in Brazil by 2015. As part of that effort, the country will give its full support to the international NGO, "Stop TB".

Meanwhile, minister of Health, Saraiva Filipe, has announced that Brazil is not only going to make an all-out effort to reduce TB by 2015 within the framework of the Millennium Goal program, but will join a worldwide campaign to eradicate TB by the year 2050.
