Brasilia – The Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Association of Meat Export Industry (ABIEC), Antonio Jorge Camardelli, confirmed, this Wednesday (7), the occurrence of foot and mouth disease (FMD) in the southern state of Paraná, following the declaration of the Secretary of Agricultural Protection in the Ministry of Agriculture, Gabriel Maciel.

Camardelli said that, from now on, measures must be adopted according to the international zoo-sanitary code. "Procedures must aim at short and medium term solutions, such as animals identification and sacrifices, among others."
