Brasília, 23 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The European commissioners for Foreign Relations, Chris Patten, and Foreign Trade, Pascal Lamy, will meet Mercosur ministers today for an evaluation of relations between the two blocks. The principal objective of the meeting is to give economic and trade negotiations a boost.

Talks will be concentrated on an inter-regional agreement on a Mercosur-EU Association. According to the European Commission, the goal of the talks is a unique agreement which will incorporate politics, cooperation and free trade. (AB)
