20 Afro-Brazilians receive foreign service school scholarships

Brasília, 23 Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Ministry of Foreign Relations reports that it has selected 20 Afro-Brazilians who will study at the foreign service school, Instituto Rio Branco. The scholarships are part of a new Brazilian affirmative action program to combat racism and discrimination. There were 403 Afro-Brazilian candidates for the Rio Branco scholarships. At the conclusion of the course, graduates become diplomats. (AB)
