Chinese mission observes sexual education programs in Brazil

Brasília, 19 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - A Chinese mission from the State Family Planning Commission is visiting Brazil where they are gathering information about sexual education in Brazilian schools. According to Sueli Texeira, from the Ministry of Education, the subject of sexual education in elementary schools is treated like other subjects, such as math and Portuguese.

A spokesman for the Chinese reports that with its birth control program a total of 338 million babies were not born between 1970 and 2000. He also said that there are 850,000 people in China with AIDS. The country has 1.3 billion inhabitants. (AB)
