Brasília, 19 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Agriculture, Pratini de Morais, met yesterday with Kanthahi Suphamongkthon, a special envoy of the Thailand prime minister, to discuss agricultural questions, such as disputes at the World Trade Organization on sugar, cotton and rice; coordinating policy with the Cairns group; and animal and plant sanitation.

The secretary of Production and Commercialization at the Ministry, Pedro Camargo Neto, pointed out that Thailand is a partner nation, with common interests, but little contact with Brazil because of its location. However, he added, with globalization and the internet, closer bilateral ties become a necessity. (AB)
