Buenos Aires, 8 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The president of the Senate, senator Ramez Tebet (PMDB-Mato Grosso do Sul), criticized on Friday financial market speculators saying that they "should take care of their business and we will take care of ours. They do not know the country. They think Brazil is the old Brazil that did not have democracy. They are completely wrong. There is a world crisis. Brazil is standing firm because the country is stable and strong," he said.

Tebet also rebutted negative evaluations of the financial market because of presidential elections scheduled for October. "The elections are an important part of the democratic process," he declared. (AB)
