São Paulo, 8 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Planning, Budget and Management, Guilherme Dias, reports that the government wants to attract pension fund and other private sector investors to investments projects in the South American Regional Infrastructure Integration Initiative (IIRSA). Dias pointed out that pension funds have assets of over R$171 billion (US$59.8 billion).
IIRSA are planned for the next decade, involving 120 projects in transportation, energy and communications worth some US$49 billion in 12 South American countries. One of the projects will connect the Brazil/Bolivia gas pipeline to other Mercosur countries. (AB)
