Buenos Aires, 8 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - At the Mercosur Summit, the presidents of Brazil, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, and Argentina, Eduardo Duhalde, reached an agreement on the debts Argentine importers have with Brazilian exporters. The two presidents agreed on loans from the National Bank of Argentina to permit importers to pay their debts. The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) will make loans totalling US$300 million to the Argentine bank to make the operation possible. Finally, the presidents raised the ceiling on Reciprocal Credit Convention operations from US$100,000 to US$300,000. (AB)
