Buenos Aires, 8 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - On Friday, following the Mercosur Summit, presidents Fernando Henrique Cardoso and Eduardo Duhalde signed three important trade agreements on autos, Argentine importer debts with Brazilian exporters and trade barriers which affect poultry, pork and textiles.
The auto agreement will allow Argentina to export US$2 worth of goods for every US$1 that it imports from Brazil in this sector for the rest of the year. In 2003, the ratio will rise to US$2.2 to US$1; in 2004, it will be US$2.4 to US$1; and in 2005, US$2.6 to US$1. In 2006, bilateral trade in the auto sector will be liberated. (AB)
