Brasília, 5 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Justice, Miguel Reale Junior, praised the decision by the Human Rights Council (CDDPH) to recommend federal intervention in the state of Espírito Santo. "This decision shows the world that Brazil does not condone human rights violations," said the minister.
The problem of organized crime in Espirito Santo has been under discussion since 1995 at the CDDPH. This year, after the murder of a member of a commission which denounced the activities of paramiliary groups in the state, CDDPH formed its own investigative commission to look into charges that organized crime had infiltrated the goverment of Espirito Santo.
