Brasília, 5 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Minister of Justice, Miguel Reale Júnior, appointed yesterday Adauto Alonso Suannes to be the Federal Police Election Ombudsman. His task will be to hear charges against the Federal Police during the election and, if necessary, propose investigations.

According to Reale Junior, Suannes was selected because of his independence. "The ombudsman cannot be a member of a political party or connected with the Federal Police. I am certain that Suannes will be absolutely evenhanded and fair," he said. (AB)
