Brasília, 8 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Brazilian government is preparing an Assistance for Brazilians Abroad Program which will assist Brazilian emigrants, mainly those without proper documents who are living in a risk situation. According to estimates, there are 3 million Brazilians living abroad.

One proposal of the program is to combat labor agencies which hire workers and female prostitutes. It will also gather information on criteria used in countries which deport Brazilians.

Known as the Lisbon Letter (Carta de Lisboa), it will also monitor the situation of Brazilian children adopted by foreigners. (AB)
