Rio, 2 (Agência Brasil - ABr) – The head of Economic Research at the Rio de Janeiro Industrial Federation (Firjan), Luciana Marques de Sá, said yesterday that the balance sheet on 8 years of the Real Plan is extremely positive. "Growth was more rapid in the beginning, but then we were hit by problems from abroad, with financial crises in Asia and Russia, and growth slowed," she explained. Even so, the plan had positive results in her opinion, mainly with the end of inflation. She added that there is still the possibility of renewed growth, but that sustained growth will depend on structural reforms and a higher level of domestic savings. (AB)
