International cooperation in S&T has become commonplace for Brazil

Brasilia, 1 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Minister of Science and Technology of Brazil, Ronaldo Sardenberg, and the Minister of Information Technology of India, Pramod Mahajan, participated Thursday, in New Delhi, of a ceremony for the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Brazilian Scientific and Technological Development Council (CNPq) and the Indian Academy of Sciences. After the event, Sardenberg said that "it's encouraging to verify that the Brazilian efforts at international cooperation in the science and technology area have become a habit, have become institutionalized, most notably with India - a nation that reveals a clear complementariness with our characteristics."

Today, the Brazilian Space Agency and the Space Research Organization of India will sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in programs aimed at the utilization of probing rockets, communication by satellite, remote sensing and personnel exchange. (MW)
