Brasilia – Yesterday Congress authorized R$164 million to be spent (“investimento”) by ministries as part of extraordinary funding (“creditos extraordinários”).

The Ministry of Transportation will receive R$116 million. Part of the funds will be used for the north-south railroad (“Ferrovia Norte-Sul”).

The ministries of Planning and Cities received some R$48 million.

The Ministry of Health received R$300,000.

It is expected that Congress will approve more funding (“creditos extraordinarios”) tomorrow in the rush to get things done before the holiday season.
