NEWS IN ENGLISH – Brazil has trade surplus of $3.5 billion in May

Brasília – The Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade reported yesterday that Brazil had a foreign trade surplus of $3.529 billion in May, with exports of $23.211 billion and imports of $19.682 billion.


The cumulative surplus for the year is now at $8.5 billion, with exports totaling $94.6 billion and imports of $86 billion.


Average (working day) daily value of exports up to May was $83.1 million, compared to $55 million during the same period in 2010, for an increase of 51%.
