Brasília – The Congressional Joint Budgetary Committee approved the 2011 Budgetary Guidelines Law (LDO) last night after long negotiations resulting in changes in the original proposals (by Tião Viana (PT-AC), who drew up the bill) regarding the minimum wage and benefit adjustments for retirees, along with rules for pricing by state-run enterprises [there are official price lists for them, but it was decided that in some cases they could use market prices]. Final votes on the modifications are scheduled for today.
The LDO has to be approved before Congress can go into recess, which is supposed to begin on July 18.
