Brasília – The partnerships set up by the Ministry of Labor and Employment after 2008 will be analyzed exhaustively by a technical commission.

According to the press office of the Ministry of Labor, the top priority will be the partnerships investigated by the Federal Police during their Operation Aesop. This operation has revealed a scheme in which a group of civil servants generated a loss of US$ 175.6 million by means of frauds and several public tenders. Other processes to be prioritized are those audited by the Brazilian Inspectorate General (“CGU”), the Court of Accounts of the Union (“TCU”) and the Public Prosecution Office (“MPF”).

Paulo Roberto dos Santos Pinto, former deputy minister of the Minister of Labor, already removed from his office, will be temporarily replaced with Nilton Fraiberg Machado, subsecretary of Planning, Budget and Management.

According to minister Manoel Dias, the Executive Secretariat is expected to be eventually headed by someone with technical qualifications.
