President of Mexico begins official visit to Brazil

Brasília, 2 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, Begins a two-day official visit to Brazil today. This is the second time Fox has been in Brazil (he came in August 2000, before taking office). From Brasilia, Fox will travel to Buenos Aires for the Mercosur Summit on July 4 and 5.

According to a note from the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Fox visit occurs "within the context of redefining and redimensioning bilateral ties in a changing world and a new hemispheric reality which favors integration." The two largest democracies and economies in Latin America will strengthen ties at the bilateral, regional and multilateral levels as a reflection of the greater political understanding they have obtained, concludes the note.
