Brasília – Sunday, October 28, was Civil Servant Day in Brazil. President Dilma Rousseff released a note complimenting civil servants on the date, thanking them for their work in favor of the country. She pointed out that service in public management must be characterized by high ethical values and efficiency in order to benefit a Brazil that was being transformed into a nation with a stable economy where jobs and income were growing.

“There are more than 600,000 professionals who daily dedicate themselves to the construction of a state that is more and more a decisive instrument in the protection of citizen rights. Brazil today is a nation in transformation. Economic stability, job and income growth, social progress are the landmarks of a new society that all of us are building,” said the message.

The president cited the need for dedicated, competent and committed civil servants to address the just and legitimate demands of all Brazilians, emphasizing the need for excellence in public service guided by ethics and efficiency.

The president’s message closed by saying that she was sure she could count on “civil servants who will move the country along a path to creating a more just and inclusive society as they served the nation with talent, ethics and dedication.”
