Brasília – A central part of president Dilma Rousseff’s busy schedule in London is the promotion of tourism in Brazil. She will be launching a publicity campaign highlighting the country’s diverse tourist attractions, technology and culture, along with hospitality and culinary delights. The London Olympic Games are seen as a good moment to take advantage of the curiosity and interest that the 2014 World Soccer Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil will stimulate.

There is also a long-term objective. In fact, according to minister of Tourism, Gastão Vieira, who is in London with the president, the goal is to make Brazil one of the world’s top three tourist destinations by the year 2022.

This week an exposition will open in London that will transform Somerset House into Casa Brasil. There will be ample information on each of the 12 Brazilian cities that will host games during the 2014 World Soccer Cup, including Rio de Janeiro, where the 2016 Olympic Games will be held. And there will be a lot of cutting edge technology, including a chance to participate in a virtual competition via a magic hologram with Brazil’s top striker, Neymar, in ball handling ("embaixadinhas").
