Brasília - In testimony yesterday before the Vote Buying CPI, adman/businessman Marcos Valério declared that his election campaign financing operations in 1998, when he worked with the PSDB candidate for governor of Minas Gerais, Eduardo Azevedo, and in 2004, when he worked with the PT through the party treasurer, Delubio Soares, were similar.

Valerio declared that Delubio Soares had made it possible for him to meet four times with the then presidential Chief of Staff, Jose Dirceu, always representing corporations that had business with the government.

Valerio also declared that the former secretary of the PT, Silvio Pereira, asked him to help the ex-wife of Jose Dirceu get financing for an apartment and a job at the Banco de Minas Gerais (BMG).

However, Valerio denied he had a pact with Delubio Soares to raise capital.
