Paris - On the final day of his visit to France, today, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met with the Prime Minister, Dominique de Villepin, at the Matignon Palace. Afterwards, Lula received the general secretary of the French Socialist Party, Francoise Hollande, at the Marigny residence, where he was staying.
President Lula also had a work meeting with French President Jacques Chirac, after which representatives of the two governments signed agreements in the military sphere and with respect to the technology and implementation of the Clean Development Mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol and the construction of a bridge that will connect Amapá and French Guiana, according to information from the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
Lula's last official engagement in Paris was a visit to the Air and Space Museum, where he saw a replica of the 14 Bis airplane, built by the Brazilian aviator, Alberto Santos Dumont. The director of the museum, Gerard Feltzer, presented Lula with a copy of the medal that Santos Dumont received from the Aeroclub of France in 1906.
