Brasília - Brazilian consumers' confidence in the country's economy grew once again in December, after a two months' downturn. The percentage of consumers who consider the country's economic situation better than six months ago rose from 15.95% to 20.7%, while the percentage that thinks that the economic situation has worsened decreased from 21.7% to 18.2%.

This is the second best result in the historical series of the index, which began in October, 2002. In addition, the country's economic situation was regarded as good by 11.7% of those interviewed for the survey and bad by 39.6%. The data were gathered by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation's Brazilian Economics Institute, during the period between December 6-20, 2004.
