GDP for first nine months of 2004 reached US$478 billion

Rio de Janeiro - At the end of the first three quarters of this year, Brazil's GDP is running at US$478 billion (R$1,3 trillion), according to the government statistical bureau (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística) (IBGE). At the end of last year the GDP reached US$577 billion (R$1.6 trillion).

In the third quarter of this year GDP was US$169.6 billion (R$457 billion).

The IBGE also reports that during the first three quarters of this year the country's investment capacity reached US$11.2 billion (R$30.3 billion).
