Brasília - The first Latin American Protein Society Congress begins today at the Hotel do Frade, in Angra dos Reis (RJ). It is expected that some 350 researchers from Brazil and abroad will attend. The event is sponsored by a research lab housed in the Ministry of Science and Technology. Among the participants is Kurt Wuthrich of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, who won the Nobel for Chemistry in 2002 for work on the structure of proteins used in magnetic ressonance imaging.
