Brasília - The First Latin American Conference on Open Source Software (Latinoware 2004) will begin this evening at the Hotel Rafain Palace, in Foz do Iguaçu (PR). The Brazilian director-general of Itaipu Binacional, Jorge Samek, will preside over the opening ceremony.
The conference will discuss the evolution, distribution and use of open source software in Latin America in education and government. Open source projects in Nicaragua, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay and Peru will be presented and discussed as well.
