Brasília - The Brazilian automobile industry produced 190,971 vehicles in October, 6% less than in September. But, compared with October, 2003, the sector is up 13.8% and registers a 21% overall increase since the beginning of this year. These data were announced today by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers (Anfavea). In December the manufacturers should surpass the mark of 2 million units in 2005. As of October, the number of vehicles produced this year stood at 1.820 million.
Domestic sales fell slightly (0.7%) in October: 131,620 units versus 132,630 in September. Exports, on the other hand, rose 8.6%, as 62.536 units were shipped abroad.
