Foreign companies ready to invest in Rio

Rio - The Rio de Janeiro state secretary of Energy, Naval Industry and Petroleum, Wagner Victer, reports that various foreign companies are interested in investing in the state. Victer cited the Norwegian firm, Soelstad, which will spend US$40 million on construction in Rio shipyards.

According to Victer, Rio was one of the highlights of the 8th International Petroleum Congress which took place last week in Norway.

Victer also announced that a factory, the first of its kind in Brazil, will be installed in Angra dos Reis for the construction of ship and platform bulkheads and partitions.
