Brasília - According to the Third Economic Bulletin of Tourism, 63% of sector businessmen believe in growing revenue over the next three months. According to minister of Tourism, Walfrido Mares Guia, efforts by the federal and state governments are paying off. The sector goal is now to create 200,000 jobs, he says.

Mares Guia explains that much of the success in the sector is due to rural tourism. "It has the highest growth rate in the world. People want to escape the confusion of urban centers. They want the peace and leisure of the country, in a natural setting. We are dedicating special attention to this area and that is very important," said the minister.
