Researchers debate role of media in bad eating habits

Recife - Yesterday the VII Brazilian Conference on Communication and Health began three days of discussions at the Olinda Superior Education Association on the role of the media in fighting bad eating habits. Also on the agenda at the event: related topics such as health and quality of life, malnutrition and the battle against hunger.

The meeting is an initiative of the ComHealth Network (Rede ComSaúde), an organization which brings together researchers and professionals in the areas of communication and health with common interests. It also has support from both the government and the private sector.

One of the participants is Geraldo Eugênio, superintendent of Research and Development at the Brazilian Farm Research Corporation (Embrapa), who will speak on the biological implications of genetically modified products.
