Embraer aircraft to be used by US Army

São Paulo - Embraer, now the world's fourth biggest commercial aircraft manufacturer, will be supplying the US Army with its ERJ 145 aircraft. It will be used for battlefield surveillance. Embraer was part of a consortium led by Lockheed Martin that won a contract worth US$879 million, but which could be worth as much as US$7 billion.

There are over 800 ERJ 145s in operation, with 5.5 million hours of flight. The Embraer ERJ 145 comes in various models (135, 140, 145 and 145 XR). Embraer has 920 orders for the aircraft and another 446 option contracts.
