Brasília – The government is investing in new anti-piracy techniques. The Ministry of Science and Technology will have a budget of US$162,000 (R$500,000) to develop new technologies to impede and make it difficult to make illegal reproductions of sound and image, such as CDs and DVDs. According to Marcelo Lopes, the coordinator of the Technology Network at the ministry, the situation is worrisome because it is estimated that in Brazil 55% of the sound and image market is pirate.
