Brasília, April 26, 2004 (Agência Brasil) - The development of a Cultural Common Market in the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) is one of the themes that will be discussed at the III Meeting of CPLP Ministers of Culture, which, beginning Wednesday (28), will count on the participation of Minister Gilberto Gil, in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique.
The agenda of debates also includes the institution of the CPLP Culture Day and is based upon the conclusions of the previous meeting, held in Rio de Janeiro in 2001, as well as the proposals made during the International Seminar on Culture and Development, which took place in the capital of Bahia, in March, when the Letter from Salvador was drafted.
The idea of establishing the CPLP Culture Day will be submitted for the Ministers' evaluation, prior to submitting the suggestion for deliberation at the CPLP Summit Meeting of Heads of State and Government, to be held this year.
Eight countries make up the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, San Tomé and Principe, and East Timor.
