Brasília, 4/20/2004 (Agência Brasil) - United States secretary of Energy, Spencer Abraham, who is in Brazil, declared that his visit has nothing to do with the controversy surrounding inspections of Brazil's nuclear fuel processing factory in Resende, Rio de Janeiro.
"I have no comment on this matter. It [the inspections] is a matter to be decided by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations and the Brazilian government. The US is not going to tell Brazil what it should do in this case," said Abraham, who signed a Brazil-US memorandum of understanding on the use of hydrogen as a fuel.
Minister of Mines and Energy, Dilma Rousseff, declared that in the meetings with Abraham the matter of the inspections was not discussed.
