Rio, 4/13/2004 (Agência Brasil) - Brazilian coconuts are set to play a special part in this European summer. A grower's cooperative in Rio de Janeiro has plans to repeat what they did last year: export containers full of coconuts. Last year they sent five containers to Italy. This year three are set to go in May. More may follow.

The president of the cooperative, Norman Stein, says the quantity of coconuts is still small, but the market opening is there and that that is what is important. Thus, at the moment, negotiations are underway with England, Portugal and Spain.
