Brasília, March 18, 2004 (Agência Brasil) - The World Health Organization (WHO) releases today, in Brasília, the Report on the Neuroscience of Drug Use and Dependence. Written by specialists from 11 countries, including Brazil, this is the first international study to report the progress made by neuroscience in its findings on how drugs affect the human brain.
Brazil was chosen to host the international launching of the report. This decision reflects a recognition of the federal government's efforts to implant a network of public services to provide care in the area of mental health, alcohol, and other drugs.
