Porto Alegre, March 12, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - An act of solidarity with the Spanish people was held this afternoon in front of the Spanish Consulate in Porto Alegre, in the south of Brazil. Hundreds of participants observed five minutes of silence in posthumous homage to those killed in yesterday's (11) terrorist attacks in Madrid.

The Spanish consul in Rio Grande do Sul, Nabor Garcia, expressed his gratitude for the telephone call he received from the governor of the state, Germano Rigotto, and to the local community. (DAS)
